CEP Athlete Ellie Greenwood Named 2011 UltraRunning Magazine North American Ultra Runner of the Year

Banff, Alberta’s Ellie Greenwood was named 2011 UltraRunning Magazine North American Ultra Runner of the Year!

After a stellar 2011 season Greenwood was a near unanimous choice for the award. She received 20 first place votes out of 22. Over the past 12 months Ellie won the Western States 100 in June, posting the second fastest women’s time ever. Additionally, she won the American River 50 and the Chuckanut 50K.

Meanwhile, in one of her “sprint” events Ellie defended her title at the Canadian Derby Marathon of Edmonton setting a new marathon personal best and course record of 2:47.14.
